Radical right-wing candidates are pushing an anti-LGBTQ+ student agenda to undermine educational access and opportunity to our youngest members of society. These candidates often succeed because traditionally little attention is paid to these local elections, where fewer than 1% of eligible residents have turned out to vote in some districts.
Delaware Stonewall PAC has reviewed the records and statements of candidates across the State, including responses collected by ACLU-DE’s candidate surveys, and concluded that the following candidates will work to ensure that our schools remain safe spaces for all of Delaware’s students:
Appoquinimink – Tashiba Graham
Caesar Rodney – Nicole Hill
Cape Henlopen – Jessica Tyndall
Christiana District C – Doug Manley
Christiana District E – Y.F. Lou
Milford – Danielle Deinert
Red Clay District A – AJe English-Wynn
Red Clay District D – Jose Mathews
Seaford – Stephanie Smith
We enthusiastically support these candidates’ efforts to build diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our schools. If we do not vote we become enablers for those who have a radical right-wing agenda.
